Matterhorn Bobsleds

You can’t miss this Disneyland original rollercoaster located within the very visible landmark Matterhorn Mountain. Soar to the top of the Matterhorn in a toboggan sled and speed down through the mountain to a thrilling splashdown. This rollercoaster is a fun way to introduce children to the thrills of rollercoasters, and it isn’t too scary or fast for most. Just watch out for the Abominable Snowman! This is a really popular Disneyland attraction that during peak times has fairly large lines. The good news is that the lines generally move pretty fast and the attraction is fun for the whole family and offers some interesting views of the park at 35-40 miles per hour.

This attraction was originally created for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York, and it continues to live in all its glory in Fantasyland. Board the small world boats as you float through the small world canal and visit over 300 audio-animatronic characters and over 100 dolls from countries all over the world. This attraction is most interesting in the sense that the appeal seems to be timeless and small children will adore the characters from each country they visit. This attraction is very special at Christmas when the attraction is retrofitted into a winter wonderland with Christmas celebrations and Christmas carols from each country. If you happen to be at Disneyland during the Christmas season, make sure to visit it’s a small world for the nightly Christmas lighting ceremony. The lighting ceremony draws quite a crowd and is a fantastic spectacle. Disneyland has also added a new computer light show choreographed to Christmas music on the exterior of it’s a small world. It is a spectacular and unique seasonal event. This Christmas light show makes for one of the most pleasant and entertaining line queues during the Disneyland holiday season.
Casey Jr. Circus Train

This attraction is a fun miniature train ride and provides a good look at the miniature villages from the Storybook Land. Located in the Fantasyland outdoor theatre area near it’s a small world is the Princess Fantasy Faire. At this fantasy faire, young princesses and knights can participate in a immersive experience of storytelling, crafts, coronation ceremony, as well as Royal arrivals from three Disney princesses. Some of the other features in this faire include photo opportunities with the three Disney princesses, Princess and Knight training, hair braiding and face painting. Check the daily Disneyland schedules for the days and times for this event, but some of the events are not published. Always try and check with the event entertainment guide located at the entrance to the Fantasyland Theatre for actual events and times.
